Path of Exile item level upgrade Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a frequent and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of additional damage or more AD or even more affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the Item Upgrader Kit that they are attached to. Upgrades to armor are available in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged using a specialist or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from other items.

The amount of damage an armored piece or weapon will absorb is contingent on the extent of its upgrades. A piece of armor upgraded to maximum upgrade level will increase the damage it absorbs. But, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than it was before.

There are several different types of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each has a different impact. Certain upgrades give armor an extra number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade that an item upgrader will receive, as shown below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees to use. Jewels

All kinds of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to obtain these. Unlike other upgrade components, jewels are able to be swapped by a different jewel of the same kind without damaging it. However, you can only replace the jewels in a piece of equipment only once.

Utilizing more jewels in a movement will make it feel smoother and is typically done for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make a surface harder than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots does not cause damage to them.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your weapons and shields. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be freely exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as aegis or traits cannot be exchanged and can only be recovered with an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets can be used to give your character various small, but valuable benefits. They can be obtained in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small, but valuable boost to movement speed and the ability to escape. After that, they'll be able to acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in a similar fashion to how the player can acquire weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment, while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with certain types of trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant bonuses and abilities that are active even when the character is not fighting. This enables the hero to be more effective while inactive and may also help to compensate for the absence of a solid team or any slots from the talent tree that normally are filled with hero's ideal statistics.

In general trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrade in Slot) items you won't replace anytime soon. Next, any items that have desirable statistics are less significant than the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It's Best item upgrader to upgrade just one crucial stat instead of two subpar ones.
